Reiki teacher training provides a person with the skills and knowledge to give Reiki healing energy to themselves and to teach others. It is simple to learn and easy to use. In order to teach Reiki, one must take the Reiki Master course. Then you can teach Reiki to others. For someone to learn Reiki, one does not need any particular skills – anyone can do it!

Once you have received Reiki teacher training, you will be able to teach others how to give Reiki healing energy to pets and other animals. Dogs and cats love receiving Reiki and many cats actually give Reiki.

Only a Reiki Master can teach the Reiki course. As a Senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher and Co-Director of the Licensed Reiki Master Teacher Training Program with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), I have been providing Reiki teacher training since 1998.

Healing energy flows through a Reiki practitioner to remove blocked energy, allowing the body to heal itself when experiencing disharmony, sadness, agitation or any other type of physical or emotional discomfort, restoring health and well-being.

Reiki symbols are sacred symbols referred to by their intention. Each symbolic name represents its purpose in the practice of Reiki. Originating from the Japanese language, the term Reiki means “spiritually guided life force energy.” The term is derived from combining the words “rei”, which means spiritual or higher, power, and “ki”, meaning life force energy.

In Reiki I, the beginning course, you will learn the history of Reiki, what Reiki is and how it heals. You will learn how to scan your body and other people for blockages, how to give a Reiki treatment and all the standard hand placements. You will receive the Placement for Reiki I (empowerment).

Reiki II teaches you about the symbols for Reiki.  You will receive the empowerment to the Reiki II energy and will practice giving a complete Reiki session. At the end of class, you learn how to send a distant treatment. Each day of the class you receive a Reiki treatment.

After six months of practice with Reiki II, giving yourself Reiki and practicing it on others, you can progress to Advanced Reiki Training and Reiki Master, which is one course taught over three days.
