Reiki symbols are sacred symbols referred to by their intention and can be used to clear and bless the environment. There are five Reiki symbols used in Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki, which are: Power, Harmony, Distance, Usui Master, and Holy Fire symbol. Each symbol represents its purpose and is referred to by its intention. Reiki symbols are the keys to connect to higher levels of Divine energy by a Reiki practitioner, and a person’s higher consciousness responds by altering and directing the way life force energy flows.

Each symbolic name represents its purpose in the practice of Reiki. Reiki symbols are empowered by a sacred ritual called Attunement, which is part of the process to connect people to higher levels of healing from God. Attunement raises a person’s energy level and strengthens their connection to spiritual energy. In Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki, we use a Placement, which is a simpler form of Attunement in which Spirit does the work through a guided meditation.

In my Reiki II class at Whole Life Center, students receive the three symbols Power, Mental/Emotional and Distant. These symbols are activated by Spirit for the Reiki practitioner during a Placement. Once the empowerment for the Second Degree Reiki symbols is received, the student is more connected to the source of Divine Guidance, intelligence, and power.

Activating the Power symbol increases the energy that comes from the Universe. The symbol is stronger than the power of Reiki I energy. It may be used to focus one’s attention on physical healing, cleansing, and more. The Power symbol strengthens one’s aura and can be used to clear and enhance energy in one’s home or office. Many also use it to protect their car while driving. Practitioners use this symbol to strengthen their power before sessions by drawing it over their chakras and on their hands. It is also used at the end of sessions to seal the healing energy.

The Mental, or Emotional symbol, is used for healing or improving relationships. Practitioners use it during treatments for any kind of emotional issue like sadness, fear, worry, grief, anger, or frustration. It can be used to heal negative thoughts and replace them with new, more productive thoughts and beliefs. When combined with the Distant symbol it is helpful in healing past traumas and hurtful situations. The Mental/Emotional symbol may also be used for healing addictions, getting to sleep or back to sleep, remembering one’s dreams, finding lost items, and learning new material.

The Distant symbol crosses time and space, and the practitioner can send Reiki across space to anyone at any time. It is used to send energy or Ki from a distance. This symbol is an essential tool used to connect one with their inner child or resolve past issues, including past-life issues. Practitioners can also send distance healing forward in time to help manifest good results. The Distant symbol works best when intended “for the highest good of all concerned.”

The Usui Master symbol represents Enlightenment and is representative of everything that is Reiki. Utilized only by Reiki Masters, it is the symbol used to heal the healers. It provides very powerful grounded energy and empowers the Reiki symbols of Power, Harmony, and Distance.

The most powerful of the Reiki symbols is the Holy Fire® symbol, which represents the Holy Spirit and one’s connection to God. Holy Fire empowers by giving vitality, confidence, safety, peace, and a feeling of being loved.

Usui Master, and Holy Fire Classes: Many practitioners use Holy Fire® Reiki to heal relationships, interactions with others and to provide guidance in every level of life experience to nurture and heal. The ICRT has Holy Fire® Reiki manuals available for each level once you have completed the Holy Fire® Reiki Master class.
 
Students of Reiki classes learn how and why the Reiki symbols are used and how they work. They learn to give Reiki healing energy from God, enabling them to embody spirituality. They come to a deeper understanding of the Divine, experiencing the power for themselves.
