Reiki Training
What is Reiki Training and who can learn it? In a Reiki training class, you learn how to give Reiki healing energy to others and to yourself. Anyone can learn Reiki as it is simple to learn and use. I have taught children as young as three and adults as old as 87 how to do Reiki. There are no prerequisites and nothing you have to know in order to take a Reiki class. You also don’t need to have any certain skills to learn Reiki. All you need is a desire to learn it!
A Reiki Master teaches the Reiki course – me! I am a Senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) and have been teaching Reiki professionally since 1998. Check out www.reiki.org. I am also the Co-Director of the Licensed Reiki Master Teacher Training Program with the ICRT. And I write regular articles for the Reiki News Magazine. I can give continuing education credits to health professionals. Read my full background here.
The beginning course is Reiki I and II, taught over a two-day period. In Reiki I you learn what Reiki is, how it heals, the history of Reiki, how to scan your body for blockages in the energy field, how to give yourself a Reiki treatment, how to scan someone else for blockages, and how to give all the standard hand placements. You also receive the empowerment for Reiki I, which is called an Attunement in some schools of Reiki and a Placement in the Reiki school that I teach. There is time for education, questions and answers, and hands on practice with another class mate.
In Reiki II, you learn the symbols for Reiki. The Power symbol increases the power of Reiki. The Mental/Emotional symbol is used for healing emotions, thoughts, and relationships. The Distant symbol is used to send Reiki at a distance and for sending Reiki back in time or forward in time. You receive an empowerment to the Reiki II energy. And then you practice giving a complete Reiki session using an intuitive method of Reiki based on your scanning. I help everyone with scanning so they can feel successful with it. Another fun part of class is learning to see auras and sending Reiki with the eyes. Students are delighted with this exercise! Being able to send Reiki with the eyes is very practical for things like sending Reiki at your child’s soccer game and during meetings. At the end of class, you learn how to send a distant treatment and we practice it on each other so that you can feel the results. Everyone is amazed! Best of all, on each day, you receive a Reiki treatment and can take a nap!
With Reiki training, you can also transfer your new skills to giving Reiki to animals, including your pets. Dogs love receiving Reiki and many cats actually give Reiki. You can also give Reiki to horses, farm animals, and wild animals.
After six months practice with Reiki II, you can go on to take Reiki Master, which is one course taught over three days. See my article on Reiki Master. The practice time is time to give yourself Reiki and to practice on a few others like your pets and family members.
I love teaching Reiki and I look forward to sharing it with you! Register for a class here.
